Papaveria Press

Info

Papaveria PressPapaveria Press was founded in 2001 in the arts district of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. I started as a bookbinder only, but have since branched out into the occasional trade paperback. Papaveria has become an imprint of Circle Six, the umbrella for all of myself and my partner’s endeavours, of which books are only one. We are currently based in France.

Papaveria has been called a radical and unique press; the truth of the matter is simply that I love books, and I love making them. As well as being a publisher, I am also a book artist, whatever that means. You can see examples of my book art at erzebet.com.

As I am both publisher and editor, I sometimes nominate titles for the Pushcart Prize. As a designer, I work very closely with the authors in the creation of their books. My authors have complete control over their books, from cover design to layout — if they so choose. I respect the written word, and I respect the people who write the books I so love.

Papaveria is, and will remain, a micro-press. And no, I don’t think the paper book is dead.

We don’t sell any books through this website. We ask you to take that one extra click over to Circle Six, or to buy our paperbacks online from the usual sellers.
