Will you help?
Today I received an alert that one of Papaveria’s authors is experiencing some financial difficulties. But wait! I am not asking for your money so don’t leave just yet. Nicole Kornher-Stace has posted about her situtation on Livejournal and has made some very tasty suggestions as to how you can help. Tasty as in she’s running a bake sale, which is sadly limited to persons in the US otherwise I’d be ordering in the cookies in bulk. I do love a good cookie. She also has copies of The Winter Triptych for sale, and this is where I come in. If you don’t already own this wonderful fairy tale novella, then you have missed out on one of the most beautiful little paperbacks in the known universe. Beautiful to look at, and even more beautiful to read.
What I intend to do here is to lure customers to Nicole by revealing the first few pages of story, with images of the pages themselves. Now, I am no good at turning a pdf into a jpg, so any fuzziness is a result of that and is not evident in the book itself. So go on, have a look at and a teaser of the first section in this marvelously detailed triptych, The Maid.

I’m afraid that if you want to continue reading, you’re going to have to head over to Nicole’s Livejournal and order one directly from her. Do not order copies from me! Not until hers are gone, anyway. It’s such a little thing, but every little thing adds up until finally, the big things aren’t so big.
